SEBLOD security vulnerabilities

mySites.guru tracks 3 vulnerabilities in com_cck. Every connected Joomla site is checked against them on each audit, and flagged if it runs an affected version.

What we check for

SEBLOD (com_cck) below 3.30.0 - Unauthenticated Path Traversal Arbitrary File Download (CVE-2026-66914, CVSS 9.2)

SEBLOD versions 1.0.0 to 3.29.0 (the Joomla 3 branch) contain an unauthenticated path traversal flaw (CWE-22). No login, no token and no permissions are required: an attacker can request arbitrary paths and download files from inside AND outside the web root, including configuration.php with your database credentials, and site backups or logs sitting above the document root. CVSS 4.0 base score 9.2 (Critical), reported by Krzysztof Zajac of CERT PL and published by the Joomla CNA on 7 August 2026. Update SEBLOD to 3.30.0 or later. There is no vendor-published workaround; if you cannot update immediately, block com_cck at the WAF for guest traffic and treat the database password, any API keys in configuration.php and any credentials stored in files above the web root as disclosed - rotate them.

Affected versions: < 3.30.0

Full advisory: nvd.nist.gov

SEBLOD (com_cck) 4.0.0 to 4.6.0 - Unauthenticated Path Traversal Arbitrary File Download (CVE-2026-66914, CVSS 9.2)

SEBLOD versions 4.0.0 to 4.6.0 (the Joomla 4/5 branch) contain an unauthenticated path traversal flaw (CWE-22). Update SEBLOD to 4.7.0 or later. There is no vendor-published workaround; if you cannot update immediately, block com_cck at the WAF for guest traffic and treat the database password, any API keys in configuration.php and any credentials stored in files above the web root as disclosed - rotate them.

Affected versions: ≥ 4.0.0 and < 4.7.0

Full advisory: nvd.nist.gov

SEBLOD (com_cck) 5.0.0 to 6.0.0 - Unauthenticated Path Traversal Arbitrary File Download (CVE-2026-66914, CVSS 9.2)

SEBLOD versions 5.0.0 to 6.0.0 (the Joomla 6 branch) contain an unauthenticated path traversal flaw (CWE-22). Update SEBLOD to 6.0.1 or later. There is no vendor-published workaround; if you cannot update immediately, block com_cck at the WAF for guest traffic and treat the database password, any API keys in configuration.php and any credentials stored in files above the web root as disclosed - rotate them.

Affected versions: ≥ 5.0.0 and < 6.0.1

Full advisory: nvd.nist.gov

Running SEBLOD on a site you manage?

A free audit tells you which of your Joomla and WordPress sites run an affected version, which are out of date, and which have not been backed up. No card required. If a site is already compromised, fix.mysites.guru is a single fixed fee per incident, usually resolved the same day.
