Know When a Site
Goes Down Before
Your Client Does
On any paid plan, every site you connect to mySites.guru gets an uptime monitor that checks it every 5 minutes and tells you when it goes down and when it comes back.

Three attempts before we call it down
A single failed request is often a blip: a busy PHP worker, a slow database query, a host restarting a service. So one failure does not trigger an alert. The monitor tries three times, 10 seconds apart, and only a 2xx status counts as up.
Every check comes from one published address, 165.227.239.229. If your host or a firewall challenges unfamiliar traffic, allowlist that one IP and the checks get through.
- 1
HEAD request
45 second timeout. A 2xx status means the site is up and the check ends here.
- 2
HEAD again, 10 seconds later
Same request, same 45 second timeout, in case the first one hit a passing hiccup.
- 3
Full GET, 10 seconds after that
A complete page request with a 45 second timeout. If this fails too, the site is reported down.
Alerts where you will see them
A downtime email read the next morning is not much use. Send the alert to wherever your team already works.
- Email, down and back up
- An email when a site goes down and another when it recovers. Optionally, a daily reminder while it stays down, and an alternative recipient for the alerts.
- The mySites.guru Slack app
- Connect Slack once and down and recovery alerts post to it.
- Webhooks
- Paste a webhook URL and alerts post in Slack-compatible, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat or signed JSON format, so they can reach a chat channel or your own automation.
- Desktop push
- Down and recovery alerts as desktop push notifications in your browser.
- SSL expiry alerts
- A warning before a site's SSL certificate expires, so it gets renewed before visitors see a browser error.
- Response times and uptime history
- A 24-hour response-time graph per site, and uptime percentages for the day, week, month and year. Client reports can include uptime sections.
Part of every plan, alongside everything else
Uptime monitoring is included in every paid plan, from the £5/month single-site plan to £19.99/month for unlimited sites. It is not part of the free audit, which looks at where one site stands today.
The same plan covers the rest of mySites.guru: vulnerability alerts, bulk updates and scheduled backups. See pricing for the details.
