Phoca Gallery
Affected versions: ≥ 4.5.0 and < 6.1.6
Full advisory: our disclosure post
Phoca Gallery 4.5.0 to 6.1.5 is affected by an authenticated stored cross-site scripting flaw (CWE-79). Attacker-controlled EXIF metadata embedded in an uploaded gallery image is rendered unescaped in the front-end image info (EXIF detail) view, allowing HTML attribute injection and stored XSS that fires when a visitor opens the photo info page. Exploitation needs the ability to add an image to a gallery (gallery upload rights, or the non-default front-end user upload enabled). Fixed in 6.1.6, released 19 Oct 2026 on the current (6.x) line. The older 4.x and 5.x release lines are stranded: their latest releases (4.5.5 and 5.1.3) carry the same vulnerable code with no fixed release, so those sites must move to the patched 6.x package or remove the component. Note: the published CVE range starts at 4.5.0; pre-4.5.0 4.x builds carry near-identical EXIF-display code but sit outside the stated range. CVSS 4.0 8.6 (High).
The base metrics as Joomla CNA published them, and what each one means for a site running an affected version. Threat and environmental metrics are left out: they describe a moment or a particular install rather than the flaw.

Updating for CVE-2026-102786 alone can leave a site on a release another rule still matches. These are the other flaws we check for in the same extension.
Latest safe version: 6.1.6
A free audit tells you which of your Joomla and WordPress sites run an affected version, which are out of date, and which have not been backed up. No card required. If a site is already compromised, fix.mysites.guru is a single fixed fee per incident, usually resolved the same day.
This check is part of the mySites.guru Joomla vulnerability scanner, which reads every installed extension's version on each audit. Browse the rest of the Joomla vulnerability database.
