mySites.guru is shortlisted in Joomla's first J!Awards

mySites.guru is one of five nominees for Your Favourite Tool in Your Joomla Workflow in the J!Awards 2026, the first community choice awards the Joomla project has run. The shortlist came from public nominations between 17 August and 13 September, and the five tools with the most nominations in each category went through to the vote, so if you put our name forward, thank you.

Voting is open now and closes on 11 October 2026 at 23:59 UTC. Anyone can vote, you do not need a Joomla account, and the winners are announced at the Joomla World Conference in Potsdam, 16 to 18 October.

How do I vote for mySites.guru in the J!Awards?

Voting takes one form on the Joomla community site, with no login and no account. You pick a nominee in as many of the eight categories as you like, add your name and email address, and submit once. Each person gets a single submission, so fill in all the categories you care about before you press the button.

1. Open the J!Awards voting page.
2. Under Tools & Services, find Your Favourite Tool in Your Joomla Workflow and choose mySites.guru.
3. Make your picks in the other seven categories now. The nominees include new Joomla 6 features, Community Magazine articles, website designs, extensions, templates and hosts, and you will not get a second go.
4. Enter your name and email address, tick the consent box, complete the captcha and submit. There is an optional box to be told when the winners are announced.

What are the Joomla J!Awards?

The J!Awards are the Joomla project’s community choice awards, and 2026 is the first year. In the project’s own words, they “celebrate the people, projects, extensions, and businesses helping make Joomla better”. There are eight categories in two groups. Creators and Contributors covers the favourite new feature of Joomla 6, the favourite Joomla Community Magazine article, the favourite website design built with Joomla and the Joomla influencer of the year. Tools and Services covers the favourite extension, template, hosting platform and tool in a Joomla workflow.

There is no jury. The public nominated, the most-nominated entries became the shortlist, and the nominee with the most votes in each category wins. The Joomla press release that launched the awards names its inspiration as the J!OSCARs, the awards created in 2010 at the J and Beyond conference, and that is where our history with Joomla awards starts.

mySites.guru is no stranger to winning awards - the Joomla J!OSCARs

We have been here before, under the name the service traded as until it was renamed mySites.guru in 2024. J and Beyond, the community Joomla conference that ran the J!OSCARs, gave the service four of them between 2013 and 2017:

2013

Noordwijkerhout. The J!OSCAR jury gave its Joomla! Innovation of the Year award to monitoring services, mySites.guru among them.

2014

Königstein. The J!OSCAR for Joomla Services, decided by the attendees.

2015

Prague. Joomla Services again, and again decided by the attendees.

2017

Kraków. Joomla Services for a third time, after a year off.

Each year links to the conference’s own winners page as the Internet Archive kept it, and the Joomla Community Magazine’s report from Kraków records the 2017 win. The J!OSCARs were decided at the conference, by a jury or by the people in the room. The J!Awards are the first Joomla awards where the whole community votes online, so the result depends on who takes a minute to vote, wherever they are.

What mySites.guru did for Joomla sites in 2026

A vote for a workflow tool should rest on what the tool does. Here is this year, in numbers from our own records:

Most of the year went into security. We found and privately reported more than a hundred vulnerabilities in Joomla extensions, nineteen of them in a single month, and the responsible disclosure archive lists them. When a vendor ships the fix, it protects all the sites running that extension, whether or not their owners have heard of us. Our subscribers get the other half: the Joomla vulnerability database is matched against the extension versions on their connected sites, so “which of my sites run the vulnerable version?” is answered on the dashboard rather than by logging into each site to check.

The rest of the year went on the kind of work a workflow category is about:

• A tool to find and fix the JCE profiles hack on all your sites at once.
• Every known Joomla 3 security issue fixed in one click, part of the subscription, with no separate eLTS licence needed.
• One-click patches for abandoned JoomShaper extensions on Joomla 3, for the sites that cannot move yet.
• Forcing MFA on Super Users across the Joomla 6.1 sites you manage.
• Release Radar, a free public log of new Joomla and WordPress extension releases, including commercial releases that no directory lists.

Over the summer alone we added 38 new tools and improved 40 more.

Why mySites.guru belongs in a Joomla workflow

A tool in your Joomla workflow is the one you open without thinking about it, and for the agencies who use mySites.guru that is the dashboard they check first thing. It shows all your Joomla and WordPress sites on one screen: which have updates waiting, which have failed a security check and which have gone down.
